SACMA silo warehouses are very tall warehouses in which racks are installed on a reinforced concrete foundation and, not only support the weight of the goods being stored and dynamic actions of the machines and any seismic events, but also have the function of supporting the roof and walls and, consequently, snow loads and strong winds.
The vertical development of these plants significantly increases the actual volume with respect to the overall plant size, consequently reducing the area occupied in the plant itself with the same stocking capacity.
The self-supporting warehouses can reach up to 40 meters in height, therefore they are usually designed and built in combination with stacker cranes or shuttles that allow automatic and fast retrieval of goods without an operator.
It becomes economically more convenient to opt for a self-supporting solution rather than a traditional one (masonry building + shelving) when you exceed 15/16 meters in height.
Depending on the user's needs, various solutions are available for ventilation, natural and artificial lighting, cooling and heating, smoke detection and evacuation and various fire prevention systems that can range from traditional sprinkler systems to the most efficient oxygen reduction systems.
